Did you know MSU celebrates Pride Month in April? What better way to kick off Pride Month than by bringing back a forgotten tradition? Queer organizations at MSU used to band together to host a dedicated Pride Week of events for students to enjoy. This highly-collaborative, community tradition began in the early 1970s and lasted until around 2008. This year, Arc sought to reignite the tradition by reaching out to our current campus community. Thanks to the help of several organizations coming together to dedicate their time and resources, we are proud to present the lineup for Pride Week 2024:

Are you looking for something fun to start your week off? Then join SPECTRUM on April 1st in Holmes Hall C103 at 7pm for a Game night!! We’ll have drinks, food, and games for you and your friends to play! Don’t have friends that are able to come? Come make new ones!!!

Join MSU Alliance and MSU Women’s Council for a dinner of community building, a chance to get to know our organizations, and meet other queer students on campus. Food and entry are free!

What better way to celebrate Campus Pride Month than to come show off YOUR talents at our Pride Showcase! Register to show off your art, poetry, performance, fashion, research and more! First 30 who register to present will get a prize for participating! If you're not into presenting, we've got you covered! Come check out your fellow Spartans' work and special collections from MSU libraries whilst enjoying delicious, light refreshments! You can also stop by MSU Broad Art Museum's Zine making table to create your own masterpiece! Whether you present or attend, it's sure to be a creative, community-building celebration!

Come join PRISM in Club Spartan for a fun night filled with karaoke! Whether singing or listening, this is a great way to take a break from school and gear up for Pride Prom!

We could be anywhere in the world, and somehow here we are together. This year our pride prom is truly Written in the Stars! Dance the night away and enjoy food and fun with other celestial beings. Play some games, maybe win a prize, and have fun exploring astrology one moment and choosing your own fate the next! Hop on a rocket and join us!

Come join the Residence Halls Association and Campus Center Cinemas to celebrate pride! We'll be airing Bottoms and Mean Girls. There will be refreshments provided by Constellation Cat Cafe and baked goods from Strange Matter. Make sure to take part in LGBTQ+ trivia to have a chance at winning a prize! Don’t worry if trivia isn’t your cup of tea; there will be exclusive pride merch to take home too. Need to “Switch” it up? We have some games lined up as well. Make your pride heard by singing with our karaoke machine! We will also have a journal decorating station (supplies provided, or feel free to bring your own). We hope to see you there!

You're not seeing double: You've got two movie events to choose from! Pride week may be nearing the end, but there is still more fun to be had! Join us as we extend the celebration with an outdoor movie screening of The Mitchells vs. the Machines, hosted by Alliance and oSTEM. Grab your coziest blankets and your favorite snacks and get ready for a night filled with cinema under the stars. It’s the perfect way to celebrate the beginning of the end of Pride week, as well as commemorate the spirit of the community. Join us in embracing the joy, love, and unity that defines this special time as we all come together during an evening under the night sky.

Are you a graduating LGBTQIA2S+ Spartan? Well, let's celebrate your academic achievement! Sign-up to be recognized during our LGBTQIA2S+ graduation ceremony, Lavender Reception! We welcome all degree levels to be celebrated and whether you graduate this spring, summer, or fall 2024, we want to celebrate you! You can sign-up to be honored in-person, virtually, or just have some rainbow graduation gear mailed to you.
